Last updated: April 30, 2026
SitegenOS respects intellectual property rights. We respond to clear, written notices of alleged copyright infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and equivalent laws in other jurisdictions.
Designated agent
Send copyright notices to: hello@sitegenos.com.
ApeTec Ltd, the operator of SitegenOS, is registered in England and Wales (company number 17065917). The same email address handles takedown notices, counter-notices, and copyright-related correspondence globally.
Filing a takedown notice
Your notice must include:
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed (URL, registration number, or detailed description).
- Identification of the infringing material on a SitegenOS-hosted site, including the specific URL.
- Your contact information: name, mailing address, telephone number, and email.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the owner.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Incomplete notices may delay action.
What we do with valid notices
Within 24 business hours of receiving a complete notice, we:
- Set the affected site's status to
taken_down(the site stops resolving publicly). - Notify the Builder and Owner via email with the takedown reason and the notifier's contact information.
- Log the notice in our admin system for audit purposes.
The site remains taken down unless we receive a valid counter-notice or the dispute resolves directly between parties.
Counter-notice procedure
If you believe your content was taken down in error, send a counter-notice to hello@sitegenos.com with:
- Identification of the material and the URL where it appeared before takedown.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.
- Your contact information and consent to local jurisdiction.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
We forward valid counter-notices to the original notifier within 10 business days. If they don't file a court action against you within 14 business days of receiving the counter-notice, we may restore the material.
Repeat infringer policy
We terminate accounts of repeat copyright infringers. "Repeat" means three or more substantiated DMCA takedowns within a 12-month period.
Knowingly false claims
DMCA notices that knowingly misrepresent infringement may subject the filer to liability for damages, including attorney's fees, under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).
Trademark, defamation, and other complaints
For non-copyright complaints (trademark infringement, defamation, privacy violations), email hello@sitegenos.com with details. We evaluate each on its merits.
