Cookie Policy
What cookies SitegenOS uses, why, and how to manage them.
Last updated: April 30, 2026
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies SitegenOS uses on sitegenos.com and on Owner-published sites. By using SitegenOS, you consent to the cookies described below unless you opt out via our cookie banner or browser settings.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. We also use localStorage for certain preferences. Together, "cookies" in this policy means both.
Cookies SitegenOS sets
Essential cookies (always on)
These are required for the service to function. They are not optional.
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
sb-*-auth-token |
Supabase authentication session | Session, or 1 year if "Remember this device" is checked |
sgos-role |
Cached role lookup (Builder / Owner / admin) | 5 minutes |
sgos-remember-me |
Whether to keep you signed in across browser closes | 1 year |
consent_v1 (localStorage) |
Your cookie-consent choice | 1 year |
theme (localStorage) |
Light or dark theme preference | Until you clear it |
Analytics cookies (opt-in via consent banner)
These help us understand how the marketing site is used. Set only after you accept via the cookie banner. Not set on Owner-published sites.
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
_pa_* |
Plausible Analytics — aggregated, privacy-respecting | Session |
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, advertising cookies, or fingerprinting trackers on the marketing site. Owner-published sites have NO analytics cookies — the only tracking is server-side aggregated view and form-submission counts.
Anti-abuse cookies (always on)
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare Turnstile cookies | Invisible bot detection on signup, login, contact form | Session |
Required for security; not removable without disabling key product features.
Do Not Track
If your browser sends Do Not Track: 1, we treat that as a "reject non-essential cookies" signal and skip the consent banner entirely. Only essential cookies are set.
Managing cookies
- In SitegenOS: click Cookie preferences in the footer to revisit your choice. Clearing your
consent_v1cookie re-shows the banner on next visit. - In your browser: browser settings let you block, delete, or see all cookies. Blocking essential cookies will prevent SitegenOS from working.
Cookies on Owner-published sites
Owner-published sites set:
- Essential: Cloudflare Turnstile cookies on contact forms (anti-spam).
- No analytics cookies, no advertising cookies, no third-party trackers.
Visitors to a published site interact only with the Owner's business — SitegenOS does not track them across sites or build profiles.
Changes
If we change the cookies we use, we increment consent_v1 to a new version (e.g., consent_v2), which re-shows the consent banner on your next visit.
